General Auditions for our 2023-2024 Season!

Description:

CHICAGO KIDS COMPANY, a professional children’s theater company now in its 31st season, is holding general auditions for their upcoming 2023-2024 season.

Chicago Kids Company enriches the lives of the young Chicago of children with their classic fairy tale productions.  Their colorful shows introduce children ages 2 to 10 to the magic of live theater, and inspire children to laugh, create, and dream.  All CKC shows are presented in 3 theaters in Chicago and the suburbs.

Performances are presented in 3 theaters:

The Beverly Arts Center (111th and Western, Chicago)

The Apollo Theater (2550 N. Lincoln, Chicago)

Metropolis Performing Arts Center (Arlington Heights)

Some of the shows in our upcoming season include Pinocchio, Little Red Riding Hood, Mrs. Claus! A Holiday Musical, Beauty and the Beast, Jack and the Beanstalk, and more!

All positions are paid:  Cast members receive a rehearsal stipend of $150, and $30 per performance.

We are seeking adult men and women (over age 18) who can act, dance, and sing.  The directing team is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion in casting.  All roles are open and available to actors of any gender, gender identity or presentation, age, race, ethnicity, ability/disability, religion, national origin, or sexual orientation.

Auditions will be held on Monday August 21st from 2-7pm at the Apollo Theater (2550 N. Lincoln Ave.)

Call-backs will be invitation only, and will be held at the Apollo Theater on Tuesday August 29th  from 2:00pm-5:00pm

Time Commitment:

All CKC shows rehearse for two weeks, daytime and evening hours (depending on the show).  CKC shows are presented on Weekday mornings at 10:30am, and select Weekends at 11:00am. Rehearsals will be held at Chicago Kids Company (4124 N. Nashville Ave., Chicago) and at the Theaters.  Having a car is ideal, but not necessary.

Rehearsals begin on October 4, 2023.

Material to Prepare:

SONG OR MONOLOGUE

Please prepare a one-minute up-tempo song, or a one-minute comedic monologue.  Choose something that shows you off the best! We are looking for big, bold, and over-the-top!
