General Auditions for our 2019-2020 Season!


MAY 20 AND 21, 2019


CHICAGO KIDS COMPANY, a professional children’s theater company now in its 27thseason, is holding general auditions for their upcoming 2019-2020 season.

 Chicago Kids Company enriches the lives of the young Chicago of children with their classic fairy tale productions.  Their colorful shows introduce children ages 2 to 10 to the magic of live theater, and inspire children to laugh, create, and dream.  All CKC shows are presented in 5 theaters in Chicago and the suburbs.   

 Performances are presented in 5 theaters:

The Beverly Arts Center (111thand Western, Chicago)

The Stahl Family Theater (Belmont and Austin, Chicago)

Metropolis Performing Arts Center (Arlington Heights)

Theater at The Center (Munster, Indiana)

Mainstage Theater at Pheasant Run Resort.  (St. Charles, IL)

Some of the shows in our upcoming season include:  Jack and the Beanstalk, Goldilocks and the 3 Bears, Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs, Rapunzel, andMrs. Claus! A Holiday Musical. 

All positions are paid:  performers and technicians receive a rehearsal stipend and are paid per performance.    

We are seeking adult men and women (over age 18) who can act, dance, and sing.  The directing team is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion in casting.  All roles are open and available to actors of any gender, gender identity or presentation, age, race, ethnicity, ability/disability, religion, national origin, or sexual orientation. 

Auditions will be held on two days:

MAY 20, from 2-9pm at the Mainstage Theater at the Pheasant Run Resort (4051 East Main Street, St. Charles, IL)

MAY 21, from 2-9pm at The Second City Chicago (1616 N. Wells St, Chicago)

Time Commitment:

All CKC shows rehearse for two weeks, daytime and evening hours (depending on the show).  CKC shows are presented on Weekday mornings at 10:30am, and select Weekends at 1:00pm. Rehearsals will be held in Chicago and in the suburbs (depending on the show).  Having a car is ideal, but not necessary. 

Material to Prepare:

SONG:  Please prepare 32 bars of a Musical Theater song. 

COLD READING:  We will be reading scenes from various CKC shows. 

Bring your headshot and resume. Prepare to show us your crazy.  We are looking for big, bold, and over-the-top!
